Irish-born but London-based, Annie MacManus was first introduced to the techno scene when one of her English lecturers
at Queens University Belfast took her out clubbing. She was soon hooked by the energy of a heaving dancefloor, and started
to cultivate her own interest in electro music. Deciding to work in radio, she completed a post-grad Masters to hone her skills,
before heading for the bright lights of England's capital city. After working as a broadcast assistant at Radio 1, she got
her big break in 2004 when she was given her own show.
Her reputation continued to grow and in the years following she appeared on Bill Bailey's team on Never Mind The Buzzcocks
as well as co-presenting Top of The Pops with actor and DJ Reggie Yates. Landing the prestigious 7-9 pm Friday slot
on R1 in 2009, this self-confessed indie girl is now as big a star as many of the artists she plays during her gigs. Hear
