About Alexandra Palace - Diversity and Excitement
In the 1870s Alexandra Palace was built out of the scraps of the International Exhibition Building in Wood Green. Created as a counterpart to Crystal Palace in South London, Alexandra Palace was nicknamed the 'People's Palace', with a zoo and funfair amongst its many attractions. Alexandra Palace has hosted a variety of events, including concerts and unique spectacles such as parachute jumping.
Alexandra Palace has evolved into a full-fledged events centre and a beautiful venue for both family outings and late night partying to the sounds of, say, David Guetta in concert. Other big name artists that have performed at Ally Pally include the Flaming Lips and Arcade Fire, among many more of today's most sought after musicians. It's well worth the trek to Alexandra Palace for both top-notch entertainment and phenomenal panoramic views of London.
