Alex Clare Biography - Sharing Experiences
Born in 1985 in Southwark, London, Alex Clare started to play the drums and trumpet at a young age, picking up the guitar
down the line. The impressionable Clare took an early interest in his father's record collection, consuming a healthy dosage
of jazz, blues and soul. Not very impressed with his sibling's appreciation of '90s heroes Oasis and Canadian singer Alanis Morissette, Clare the teenager gravitated toward drum 'n' bass and Britain's
garage scene. Exposure to these genres eventually led to the genre-crossing Alex Clare album debut a few years later.
Channelling his heartbreak and life experience into his songwriting, Alex Clare's 'Too Close' is the quintessential example
of the young lyricist's work. Reflecting the pain and indecisiveness that often accompany a break-up, the single reached the
top five on the charts, exposing carefully crafted Alex Clare lyrics to a wider audience.
