Above and Beyond – Darlings of Electronic Music
The multitalented geniuses of Above and Beyond create genre defying electronic music that gets concert-goers moving. Above and Beyond’s beat-pulsating music has provided the
soundtrack for beach parties 8,000 strong and, of all things, the unveiling of a space rocket. Suffice to say Above and Beyond
are an audience favourite among the dance/electro-loving set.
The band’s sonic prowess has landed them a top five position on DJ Magazine’s 2010 poll, while Above
and Beyond’s Essential Mix contributions to BBC Radio 1 earned them ‘Best of the Year’ honours in 2004 and
2011.

Above and Beyond Biography – Classical Roots Transformed into Dance Beats
Above and Beyond are an electronic trio with somewhat unexpected musical origins. Members Jono Grant and Paavo Silamäki
first met at the University of Westminister, London in 1999. The two shared training in classical music and a passion for the trance scene, interests that led to their eventual
collaboration and the creation of Anjunabeats, a label through which to funnel their own music.
After the success of their mix Volume One, Grant and Silamäki were approached by manager Tony McGuiness to
remix Chankra’s ‘Home’. McGuiness eventually decided to join the group himself, birthing the Above and Beyond
that fans across the world soon came to love.
Above and Beyond albums such as Tri-State, Sirens of the Sea and Group Therapy are peppered with club-friendly
hits that have received heavy airplay from Ibiza to Los Angeles. They’ve also famously remixed the Madonna single ‘What it Feels Like for a Girl’ and other hits by top artists. Above
and Beyond’s performance cred precedes their live shows; whether witnessing them DJ or play large-scale dance festivals
such as Electric Daisy Carnival, audience members are virtually guaranteed a solid evening of dance enjoyment.
